Great PB for Luvuyo Bangazi at Durban 70.3

Success at 2nd IM Durban 70.3 June 20, 2017 | Luvuyo Bangazi  The build up t Durban 70.3 could not have been more interesting. After having had an amazing Ironman African Champs in April with a finish time of 11hr20min, I was already looking forward to taking a break and focusing on the next Iron distance event, Challenge Regensburg in Aug, or so I thought. It didn’t take much to convince me that I needed a preparation race to...

Annah Watkinson’s race report from IM Brazil 2017

IM Brazil – there was no plan to race this race in 2017! After a great first year racing in the professional category in 2016,  I was amped for the 2017 season. Ironman made me a Multi-tasker – Luvuyo Bangazi

One of the best gifts from doing Ironman in my mind is the ability to multitask. How we juggle and try to keep balance is a skill that needs work daily. All the meanwhile Smile Foundation had a Cyclothon at Baywest from 9am -1pm, another initiative...

Steelhead 70.3 – Gareth Wright

Moving to the United States of America at the beginning of February brought more challenges to my training than I thought. The biggest challenge that I faced was training on my own. I was not looking for a training partner/partners to train with on a daily basis, but for company when the going got tough… and boy did it get rough at stages emotionally! Looking back at the past 6 months, it may have been a blessing that I trained...

70.3 Durban 2016

We have just returned from an interesting but successful Durban 70.3 event. Whilst a lot of Team Tissink athletes opted to skip this event and rest after IMSA, we still had a good showing and some excellent results. I don’t think I’ve ever seen swim conditions like that before. When the announcement came that the swim was cancelled, we were all disappointed, and thought that it wasn’t actually that bad. But walking down to the beach,...
